ABOUT US

BEL boats was started by Marty Arbuthnot and is named after his 3 daughters Bronte, Ella and Liv (wife was a little upset she did not get a mention).

Marty originates from Northern Ireland and comes from a strong family lineage of artesian shipwrights and master mariners, like his great uncle Jim, who was a master carpenter for the first class cabins on the Titanic (not responsible for building the iceberg).

Also onboard is Paul Mickeljohn who comes from the polar regions of Bonnie Scotland near Aberdeen. Pauls expertise in business and building lies in final fit-outs, timber finishes and his uncanny ability to tell dad jokes all day long!

Testimonial

"Over a 4 month period, Marty and his team fully restored my classic original Venetian water taxi in 2015. An approach was taken to restore every aspect including re-chroming all metal components, replacing all sun surfaces and restoring the hull. The end result looks outstanding with excellent grain, timber joins and dowel finishes. Professionalism, care and weekly updates with photos instilled much confidence and the end result far exceeded my expectations. Well done boys."
